Welcoming the Lunar New Year with International Friends in Ningbo Our City Hosts the International Friendship Spring Festival Concert

As the Lunar New Year approaches, the 2025 International Friendship Spring Festival Concert was held at the Ningbo Cultural Plaza Grand Theatre on the evening of January 13 to express gratitude to the international friends in Ningbo for their contributions to the city’s economic and social development.

This cross-border musical feast featured Ningbo Symphony Orchestra’s resident conductor Yu Ji, baritone Hu Shihao, soprano Wang Leilei, and guzheng performer Zhang Yuxuan. Together, they celebrated the Chinese New Year with international guests, fostering deep global friendship in a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

The concert began with an exhilarating performance by the Ningbo Symphony Orchestra, whose cheerful and dynamic rhythm ignited the audience’s enthusiasm. The musical journey was filled with captivating pieces, including Ballet of Spring, I Love You, China, Father’s Prairie, Mother’s River, and a medley of themes from China’s Four Great Classical Novels. Guzheng concerto Tango of the Strings showcased traditional Chinese charm, earning thunderous applause.

Classic international pieces such as excerpts from Swan Lake Suite, Shostakovich’s Second Waltz, and arias from Carmen and Don Giovanni mesmerized the audience with their beauty.

More than 500 international friends from 58 countries, including the United States, Australia, Serbia, Slovenia, Spain, Norway, Brazil, South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Turkey, attended the concert.
